Fundraising

Each rider in the Divide Ride is required to raise a minimum of $250 in donations. These donations should be collected in advance and turned in on the day of the ride. This should not be a difficult goal. We hope that you will consider this a starting point and raise much more. There will be prizes awarded to the top fundraisers at this years divide ride.

The key to successful fundraising is to start early and contact a lot of people. It only takes five friends making a $50 contribution to raise $250.

A few fundraising suggestions:

  • Make a list of potential donors. Keep adding to this list as you think of names.
  • Send a letter to each potential donor. Here is a sample letter.
  • Follow up with a phone call.
  • Check with your employer (or parent's employer) and see if they have a charitable matching program and double your contribution.
  • Collect up the money and bring it to the ride.
  • Send thank you notes after the ride is done.
